Operations
South Korean production now. US production next.
EM&T's operating subsidiaries in South Korea run the full sequence from NdPr metal to finished magnet: oxide-to-metal conversion, alloy powder and flake, bonded and sintered magnet manufacturing, and the automation that ties them together. The company is consolidating these operations at Pohang.
How We Manufacture
Our magnet production capabilities in aggregate combine five steps, supported by AI and state-of-the-art robotics

Oxide-to-Metal Conversion Plant
Oxide-to-Metal Conversion Plant
Uses electrowinning furnaces to refine NdPr Oxide into NdPr Metal, a key precursor for magnet alloys.
Alloy Powder & Flake Production Plant
Processes NdPr Metal into specific alloy forms tailored for bonded or sintered magnets, independent of Chinese supply chains.
Bonded Magnet Manufacturing Plant
Produces injection-molded magnets used in consumer electronics, sensors, automotive motors, and more. Uses in-house resin formulations.
Sintered Magnet Manufacturing Plant
Creates high-performance magnets for EVs, wind turbines, medical imaging, and defense sectors using advanced pressing and sintering methods.
Automation & AI Integration
Robotic lines and AI software optimize material handling, sorting, and chemical refinement at each stage.

E-Scrap Recycling Facility (planned)
E-Scrap Recycling Facility (planned)
Planned facility to sort and shred end-of-life electronics into ferrous and non-ferrous concentrate for further processing.
Battery Recycling Facility (planned)
Planned facility to process end-of-life batteries into black mass containing lithium, cobalt, nickel and manganese.
Hydrometallurgical and Pyrometallurgical Facility (planned)
Planned facility to recover magnet materials (neodymium, praseodymium, dysprosium, terbium) from concentrate, refine non-ferrous concentrate into precious metals, and process black mass into battery-grade carbonates, sulfates and precursor cathode active material, using mechanical, magnetic and chemical separation.
